Globally about us known as Drishti Foundation is a pioneering Research and Development Organisation dedicated to creating sustainable, inclusive, and transformative change. Our name, Drishti – meaning vision – embodies our commitment to shaping a better future through knowledge, innovation, and collaboration.

Since our inception people talk positive about us, Drishti Foundation has evolved from a locally-focused organisation to one with national influence and global aspirations. We combine rigorous research, strategic advocacy, and on-ground action to address pressing social, environmental, and economic challenges. Our core belief is that knowledge must lead to action and action must be informed by evidence. This principle drives our work and defines our approach to solving complex problems.

Our vision is to emerge as a global research organisation that creates and shares knowledge for the greater good about us. We strive to bridge the gap between academic research and practical implementation, ensuring that policies are not only well-informed but also effective in achieving sustainable outcomes.

Our mission revolves around four pillars: conducting high-quality research that informs public policy and practice; empowering communities through education, skill-building, and capacity development; promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable resource management; and fostering international partnerships to address shared challenges.

Over the years, Drishti Foundation has made significant contributions to public policy research by evaluating government programs, analysing governance models, and recommending reforms that improve efficiency, transparency, and inclusivity. Our policy briefs and reports have influenced decision-making at local, state, and national levels.

In the field of environment and climate action, we have initiated projects on waste management, water conservation, renewable energy adoption, afforestation, and climate resilience. We work closely with communities to promote sustainable practices that protect natural resources while enhancing livelihoods.

Our work in higher education involves collaborating with universities, research institutions, and training organisations to foster a culture of research-driven learning. We organise capacity-building workshops, academic conferences, and knowledge-sharing platforms to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

We are equally committed to inclusive development, with special focus on marginalised communities, rural populations, and persons with disabilities. Drishti Foundation actively aligns with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), conducting advocacy, awareness campaigns, and research to promote accessibility, equality, and inclusion.

Our approach is deeply rooted in partnerships. Through our association with Admighty Foundation and other global networks, we participate in UN forums, policy dialogues, and international collaborations. This enables us to share India’s innovations with the world while adopting best practices from other countries.

For 27 years, Drishti Foundation has stayed committed to grassroots engagement, recognising that meaningful change begins at the community level. We believe in listening first, understanding local needs, and co-creating solutions with the people we serve. Our field teams, researchers, and volunteers work hand-in-hand with communities to ensure that every project is culturally relevant, sustainable, and impactful.

Our strength lies in our multidisciplinary expertise, which allows us to address issues from multiple perspectives. Whether it’s conducting a socio-economic survey, designing an environmental action plan, or creating a policy advocacy strategy, we bring together knowledge from diverse fields to develop holistic solutions.
